Bengaluru-based sportswear platform Agilitas has raised ₹225 crore in fresh funding from Nexus Venture Partners and Rainmatter by Zerodha.
The funding round includes:
- ₹200 crore follow-on investment from Nexus Venture Partners
- ₹25 crore investment from Rainmatter, Zerodha’s startup investment arm
The company said the fresh capital will help strengthen its manufacturing, retail, technology, and brand-building capabilities as it scales its India-built sportswear platform globally.
Building More Than Just A Sports Brand
Founded by Abhishek Ganguly, Atul Bajaj, and Amit Prabhu, Agilitas is building a vertically integrated sportswear ecosystem covering:
- Manufacturing
- Product Development
- Retail
- Distribution
- Brand Building
Unlike traditional brands, Agilitas is focusing on controlling the entire value chain — from designing products to selling them through owned retail stores and partner channels.
Strong Growth Since Mochiko Acquisition
The company acquired Mochiko Shoes in 2023 and has since witnessed rapid growth.
According to Agilitas:
- Revenue from the business grew from ₹642 crore in FY23 to nearly ₹1,350 crore in FY26
- The company now manufactures footwear for both owned and partner brands
Last year, Agilitas also launched Lotto in India, which reportedly gained strong traction across retail channels.
One8 & Retail Expansion Plans
Agilitas is now preparing to launch One8, a high-performance sportswear brand co-founded with Virat Kohli, on June 21.
The startup is also expanding its retail presence through Sportsyard, a large-format multi-brand retail concept featuring brands like Nike, adidas, Puma, ASICS, Skechers, and New Balance.
Its first Bengaluru store reportedly became profitable within just two months, and the company now plans to open 10 more stores this financial year.
India’s Activewear Market Growing Fast
The investment comes at a time when India’s sportswear and active lifestyle market is growing rapidly.
Increasing fitness awareness, stronger local manufacturing, and rising demand for premium activewear are creating new opportunities for Indian brands.
Industry experts believe companies like Agilitas could play a major role in building globally recognized sportswear brands from India.
