Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has signed an MoU with the Tamil Nadu government to invest ₹18,600 crore across three large-scale projects in the state. The developments are expected to generate around 8,200 employment opportunities.
The biggest project is a ₹15,000 crore expansion of a data centre facility in Kanchipuram district. L&T will also invest ₹2,500 crore in an electronics manufacturing project in Coimbatore and ₹1,100 crore to expand its shipbuilding facility at Kattupalli.
The investments are aimed at strengthening Tamil Nadu’s position in high-growth sectors including digital infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, and maritime engineering.
For L&T, the move reinforces its long-term commitment to infrastructure and industrial development, while providing a major boost to employment and economic activity in the state.
