Aiming to revolutionize drone technology, Vayudh has recently closed a $10 million funding round led by Dharna Capital [affiliated with Vy Capital].
The investment setup also received participation from renowned investors like Deepinder Goyal, Ajay Aggarwal, Sumit Jalan, LetsVenture, and Navam Capital.
Vayudh is the defence-focused drone technology wing of IIT Delhi’s incubated BotLab Dynamics.
The fresh investment is designated to strengthen Vayudh’s research and development capabilities, expand its manufacturing infrastructure, and expedite drone technologies deployment within India’s defence forces.
Founded in 2016 by Tanmay Bunkar, Anuj Barnwal, and Dr. Sarita Ahlawat, Vayudh has established itself as the frontrunner in swarm drone technology.
With almost 300,000 autonomous flying hours under their belt, serving both defence applications and commercial sectors such as drone light shows and industrial surveying, Vayudh’s vision is to deliver cutting-edge, indigenous drone solutions for real-time battlefield intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations.
In 2023, their innovative approach bagged them recognition from the iDEX [Innovations for Defence Excellence] grant, which empowers them to develop the country’s smallest surveillance drone.
The award highlights and underscores Vayudh’s commitment to evolving India’s self-reliance in defence technology.
